Who doesn’t like some hot snack for an evening? Tofu has its own specialty for carrying such a good quality protein, vegan, and suitable for lactose intolerance. This easy and perfect evening snack could be a dish that your family loves! It can be paired with some soy sauce, can be added to salads, or can go well within wraps.

Why is it healthy?

  • Tofu contains soy isoflavones which are plant-based estrogens also known as phytoestrogens. It is found to reduce LDL cholesterol and decreases the risk of atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.
  • They also help reduce bone loss and increase bone mineral density, especially after menopause.
  • Soy proteins may enhance kidney function and could have benefits for people who are undergoing dialysis or kidney transplantation.
  • Sesame seeds are high in calcium, magnesium, manganese, and zinc which help in strong bones.
  • They help in reducing inflammation and are a good source of B vitamins, and antioxidants.
  • They may also aid in controlling blood sugar levels, support the immune system, and maintain thyroid health.

Who is it for?

This recipe can be incorporated into the diet of people with diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, lactose intolerance, and kidney-related disorders (depending on the protein requirement). Kids can also enjoy this dish as their evening snack or can get into their wrap or roll for lunch box making it nutritious and yummy.

🍽 Serves: 1

🥗 What you’ll need:

  • Tofu cubes- 100- 150g

For marinade:

  • Tahini paste- 2 tablespoon
  • Olive oil- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce- 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic (chopped)- 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated)- 1 inch
  • Sesame seeds- 2 teaspoon
  • Chilli flakes- 1/2 teaspoon

✋Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade.
  2. Marinate the tofu cubes and cover it, keep it aside for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, place marinated tofu cubes. Flip them to cook from the other side as well and sprinkle some sesame seeds over it.
  4. Turn off the flame.
  5. Serve hot with the chutney of your choice. Enjoy!
