Flatbreads are one of the staple foods, which are quickest and easy to make. Here is a twist to make it more healthier. This creative Millets Flatbread is good to serve hot with a sweet and tangy chutney on the side. The vibrant color and taste attract all and definitely no one can pass this fancy meal without a bite. 🥗 Ingredients:

  • Jowar (white millet) flour- 1/2 cup
  • Bajra (black millet) flour- 1/2 cup
  • Garlic (lehsun) paste- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chilli paste- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds (til)- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Oil- 1 teaspoon (optional)

Method

  1. First, combine all the ingredients (except oil) in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using warm water as required.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions.
  3. Roll out each portion into a flat circle/ flatbread using a little jowar flour for rolling.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a non-stick tava (griddle), place the roti/flatbread over it and cook it for a few seconds. Turn over the roti/flatbread and cook the other side for a few more seconds.
  5. Lift the roti/flatbread with a pair of flat tongs and roast over an open flame till brown spots appear on both sides. Place it on a dish and smear some oil over it (optional). Serve hot.
  6. Millets Flatbread is ready. Enjoy with a side of baingan bharta/gravy or any other vegetable! ;)
